The results are in but the gains are too little and too far in between. Across gyms, it is a common sight to see guys slaving away at bicep curls, bent over for long periods just to see a little gain, but when all is said and done, still don't have much to show for their pain.
There are those who even suggest or argue that there is an obsession with big biceps that is not healthy for many. But even with the implied or expressed addiction to building biceps big, why do so many fail to achieve any reasonable success?
There are some good reasons for this failure at growing big biceps. Here are just a few of those reasons.
1. In our natural way of thinking and doing things, we have been trained to think that more is better when we are engaged in constructive endeavors. But when it comes to building big biceps, more is not always better. Contrary to our natural intuition, less is even more. This is even more true with some who are not especially gifted genes that are muscle friendly. The trick here is to do just a little more in terms of load than your previous session and not to work the muscles to a frenzy with the same bicep exercise pay load.
2. It is important to keep your focus on the long term benefit, and not in what your biceps look like while you are training. The truth is that while in training, you are able to make the biceps big due to increased blood flow while training, but your focus should be what your biceps look like hours after training and that is not achieved necessarily through long repetitions, but by an extra pay load than the previous session.
3. It is recommended with bicep training not to put the emphasis on the biceps alone. Those who do especially well on growing bigger biceps have been know to put their emphasis on increasing their shoulder, back and chest strength and in so doing, have strengthened their arms and made their biceps big.
Here are some bicep routines that you can do to realize your dream of making your biceps big and strong.
Put the stress on the outer portion of the bi's by placing your elbows outwards and using a super-close grip
Put the stress on the inner portion of the bi's. Take super-wide grips on the bar, dig your elbows into your side and keep them still.
